Description

Lecanora pulicaris (Pers.) Ach., 1814

Photograph of a spore from an apothecium of Lecanora pulicaris taken through a compound microscope, x1000. (spore measures 13 x 8 microns)

This specimen of Lecanora pulicaris was growing on bark near the Endless Mountain Retreat, south on County Road 601, approximately 2.4 miles from US 250 in Highland County, Virginia, USA.

Collected and identified by E.C. Uebel (No. U-416, 8 Jun 2002).
