[edit]DescriptionLearjet Model 23.jpg |
English: From the museum website:
One of the world’s earliest production model business jets – the aircraft type that has revolutionized private aviation – this aircraft was the sixth Model 23 to come off the Learjet assembly line in Wichita. It was among the first Model 23’s put into actual business jet service and Learjets were one of the pioneer private jet aircraft manufacturers in the world. They have been followed by a proliferation of designs and models. The aircraft has impressive performance: 518 mph cruising speed, 552 mph maximum speed, 6,900-feet-per-minute rate of climb, 1,830-mile range, 45,000-foot ceiling. According to the Smithsonian Institution, the Model 23 can outclimb an F-100 Super Sabre to 10,000 feet. A similar Learjet Model 23 is currently on display at the Udvar Hazy Wing of the Smithsonian.
