Description
English: 240601-N-VD554-1012 SAINTE-MARIE-DU-MONT, France (June 1, 2024) – Petty Officer 1st Class Ansell Scott, assigned to the U.S. Navy Parachute Team, the “Leap Frogs,” prepares to land in the drop zone in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, Normandy, France, June 1, 2024, during the 80th commemoration of the D-Day. U.S. military personnel and equipment commemorate the 80th anniversary of Operation Overlord, the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, widely known as D-Day. Highlighting the Department of Defense continued commitment to honor the historic significance of D-Day and the sacrifices made, this event connects the strength of the alliance and dedicated resolve required during WWII to NATO, which strengthens the unity today.
