Summary

[edit]
Description

Mating pair of Leptoglossus oppositus climbing down the stem of a lotus leaf. Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, Washington, DC, USA. 21 August 2010.

The white dots on the head of the male are most likely eggs of a tachinid fly in the subfamily Phasiinae. When the larvae hatch they will burrow into the bug and feed on its tissues. Guten Appetit!
