Title
Lead spindle whorl - biconical
Description
English: Spindle whorl; cast lead bi-conical spindle whorl. The whorl is circular with a rib around the edge. There are some abstract markings on one face, although they do not seem intentional and are probably faults from the casting. The metal has an even, thick, white patina over its surface.

Spindle whorls are notoriously difficult to date out of context since very similar designs were in use from the Roman period through to the early Post Medieval era.
