Title
Lead spindle whorl
Description
English: Spindle whorl; Decorated cast lead spindle whorl. The spindle whorl is circular with a double convex cross section. It has a circular hole slightly off-set from the centre and a raised rim around the edge, on both faces. The spindle whorl is decorated on both faces with pellets and lines, cast in a seemingly abstract pattern. The metal has a uniform thick white patina across its surface.

Spindle whorls are difficult to date as they remained in use, in a very similar form, for many centuries.
