English: Lead

Shot. Six cast spherical shot (a-f). Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1700-1800. Diameters and weights as follow: a) 15.6mm, weight: 19.34gms, patinated and with angular faces which might derive from its incorporation in a charge of canister; b) 12mm, 10.9gms, with mould line and stub of casting sprue, probably for a fowling piece; c) 10.5mm with mould line and a scar where nipped from sprue, for fowling piece; d) 9.5mm, 5.01gms, possibly for fowling piece; e) 8.7mm, 3.37gms, with mould line and scar where nipped from sprue, possibly from a charge of buckshot; and f) perhaps droplet cast in tower or through a sieve, diameter: 6.8mm, Weight: 1.59gms, probably from a shotgun charge.

Overall weight: 47.39gms.
