Description

Le pont gaulois dit de Sainte-Catherine, du nom de la chapelle voisine, est un ouvrage primitif daté du 2e siècle et du haut moyen-âge, un des rares du genre encore en bon état. Il est situé sur la voie gallo-romaine de Carhaix à Lannion. Il enjambe l'Hyère à l'intersection des trois communes de Carhaix, Plounévézel et Treffrin.

D'une longueur totale de près de 60m, il est constitué de 4 arches à encorbellement et 3 éperons de protection. La pierre employée est le schiste, le tablier est constitué de dalles plates.

Sur la carte d'état major il apparait que la route principale empruntait encore l'ouvrage au milieu du XIXe siècle.
