Description

Photo d'archive : Oscar Niemeyer (1907-2012) à gauche et Lucio Costa (1902-1998) à droite en 1957 au moment des travaux de Brasilia dans le pavillon du Brésil de la biennale d'architecture 2014

Le projet de Brasilia a été conçu par les architectes Oscar Niemeyer (principaux bâtiments publics) et Lucio Costa (plan d'urbanisme, concours de 1957).

Brasilia a été inauguré en 1960 après 1000 jours de travaux

Pour illustrer le thème "Absorbing modernity 1914-2014" de la biennale internationale d'architecture de Venise de 2014, le Pavillon du Brésil présente une évolution chronologique de l'architecture de son pays, qui se caractérise par une relation intime à la modernité.

Des maquettes , des documents et des photos de 180 bâtiments remarquables constituent l'exposition du pavillon du Brésil, complétée par un catalogue complet sur ce thème.
