Passage entre les deux espaces de la cour intérieure du Pavillon de conférences Les bâtiments conçus par Tadao Ando sont souvent partiellement enterrés, les salles de conférences de Vitra ouvrent sur la cour intérieure mais également au niveau du jardin de l'autre coté du bâtiment. On retrouve les plaques de béton laissées à l'état brut comme dans tout l'édifice. Pour l'architecte, l'espace clos et l'austérité sont propices à la réflexion. Conception Tadao Ando 1993 Campus Vitra, Weil am Rhein, Allemagne Première création de l’architecte en dehors du Japon, ce bâtiment calme et plein de retenue regroupe plusieurs salles de conférence. Le corps du bâtiment à la structure très ordonnée cache une partie de ses extensions en sous-sol. Le chemin menant au pavillon, évoquant les sentiers de méditation des jardins des cloîtres japonais, est remarquable.
