Le bateau de Gokstad dans le musée des Bateaux vikings à Oslo (Vikingskipshuset). Ce bateau, mis au jour en 1880, a été construit vers 890 et a été utilisé comme bateau funéraire pour un chef viking. Le corps se trouvait dans une chambre funéraire en bois placée sur le pont. Autour du corps ont été découverts de nombreux objets en bois, cuir et textiles. Le bateau est long de 24 m. Il comportait 32 rameurs et était un bateau construit pour la haute mer.
