Français : Cette gravure à l'eau-forte est issue d'un recueil gravé par Jacques Lagniet à Paris dans la seconde moitié du XVIIe siècle et portant sur les proverbes. Il s'intitule le Premier Livre des Proverbes et compte une soixantaine de pièces illustrées.
Cette gravure figure deux hommes en train de tondre un drap posé sur un établi. la scène prend place dans un atelier. En partie inférieure, un proverbe donne le sens de l'eau-forte : "En, Ce, noble, mestier, Je, Viens, de, tout, about, / et pour, mieux, accrocher, Jay, tousjours les, mains, torses, / Je ne puis, estre, gueux, car, Je, tondz, dessus, tout, / et, si, Jay, quelque, bien, Je, lattrappe, par, forces, nous les aurons / par force". |
