Français : Le Regret maternel, gravure en couleur de Jean-François-Gabriel Delegorgue-Cordier, d'après un tableau de Charles-Jacques Lebel présenté au Salon de 1806 (numéro 327 du livret de l'exposition) intitulé "Le regret maternel", avec la description suivante : Une jeune femme arrivant à la campagne pour y voir son enfant qu'elle y avait mis en nourrice, le trouve mort dans son berceau ; elle le presse sur son sein et s’abandonne à la plus vive douleur. La nourrice voulant éviter les reproches de la mère, se retire en pleurant avec son enfant.
