Description

Le Muséum d'histoire naturelle du Havre occupe depuis 1881 ce batiment ancien qui était auparavant un palais de justice. Les bombardements alliés de 1944 ont fortement endommagé ce batiment, classé monument historique, qui n'a rouvert ses portes qu'en 1973. Un chantier de réaménagement a eu lieu en 2007. Ses collections d'histoire naturelle sont importantes, elle comprenent également près de 8000 documents liés aux recherches et travaux de Charles-Alexandre Lesueur (1778 - 1846) qui, après de nombreux voyages, notamment en Australie et aux Etats-Unis, en a été le premier conservateur.
