Description

Vue du Colisée (amphithéâtre Flavien construit dès 72 par l'Empereur Vespasien) depuis le Palatin.

Les photographies ont été prises à proximité de l'emplacement de la salle de la Domus Aurea qui pouvait tourner sur elle-même. En effet, les archéologues ont identifié sur la Palatin des structures architecturales susceptibles de constituer le pivot du bâtiment tournant.

Le Colisée est situé à l'emplacement occupé par un lac artificiel faisant partie du palais de Néron (Maison Dorée, Domus Aurea) construit après le grand incendie de Rome de 64.
