Le Blanc (Indre). Le château Naillac. Le château de Naillac, château féodal du XIIe siècle, fut logis seigneurial avant de devenir prison, puis école. La seigneurie du Blanc était divisée entre Le Berry et le Poitou. Disputée pendant la Guerre de Cent-Ans, la place du Blanc sera prise par les Anglais vers 1360, puis reprise par le parti français en 1370. En 1375, la ville est inquiétée par le passage de Perrot Foucauld, dit Perrot le Béarnais, un capitaine de routiers qui règnait sur le Limousin et l'Auvergne et avait pris le château de Chalucet. Perrot le Béarnais et ses gens "levèrent en un jour toutes les marchandises de la ville du Blanc en Berry, où pour ces jours il y avait foire; et eurent là grand profit, ces compagnons de routes, et des bons et riches prisonniers; et puis passèrent outre; et vinrent jusqu'à Selles en Berry; et fut la ville toute pillée et robée". (Batailles et brigandages en Auvergne et en Bourbonnais: Berry, Limousin ... Par Henri Pourrat - 1952). Les troupes anglaises repassèrent au Blanc en 1412. La place est alors protégée par Jean de Naillac. Celui-ci sera tué au siège d'Orléans, en 1429*. Le château de Naillac était l'un des trois châteaux du Blanc. Les deux autres châteaux, des Bordes et des Hautes-Tours, sont aujourd'hui disparus. Remanié plusieurs fois au cours des siècles, le château a conservé en particulier une salle seigneuriale ornée d’une cheminée romane entourée de deux baies à colonnettes, la charpente intérieure d’un hourd du XV ème siècle. Les deux donjons jumeaux d'origine ont été reliés par un bâtiment bas après 1714. De l'époque où le château était prison, les murs conservent des graffitis tracés par les prisonniers de la fin du XVIIIe siècle. Le château est, depuis 1986, le siège de l’Ecomusée de la Brenne.
