Description Arms of Le Grice / Le Grys: Quarterly azure and gules, on a bend argent three boars passant sable (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.597 "Le Grice / Le Grys of Norfolk"); Le Grice / Le Grys of Brockdish in Norfolk. Possibly canting arms, grease from boars, compare arms of Bacon of Norfolk, old established family, whose arms similarly feature boars. French: lard = bacon; English: lard = grease.
