Title
English: Lawrence Lindsley blacksmithing, Old Snoqualmie Pass Road, summer 1899
Description
English: Handwritten on verso: June-July-August 1899. Lawrie Lindsley blacksmithing on Old Snoqualmie Road about four miles east of old 15 Mile Bridge. We worked repairing the road from South end of Lake Keechelus to foot of Grouse Ridge about three miles east of North Bend. My grandfather D.T. Denny was supervisor of the work. My work was drilling and blasting the rocks and stumps. I left the crew and Grandpa at 15 Mile Bridge and went to work in Esther Mines. Grandpa came to the mines when work was finished at foot of Grouse Ridge. He made his last trip that year to the mine, September-October 1899.

Handwritten on negative jacket: July-August 1899. Old Gold Creek Series. Lawrie. Blacksmith on Old Snoqualmie Road between 15 Mile Bridge and 25 Mile Crossing in 1899. This photo was made while we were repairing the old wagon road from south end of Lake Keechelus to foot of Grouse Ridge. Grandpa Denny was supervisor and Kittitas and King County put up the money. When we first started at Lake Keechelus we had to sled our supplies down from Martin [?] on N.P. Railroad over the snow. We started from the lake and worked west. I worked as far as 15 Mile Bridge and then went to Esther Mine.
