| Description |
English: Up West-to-North express at Lawrence Hill. View southward, towards Temple Meads and the West, also Bath and the East and South, via Dr. Day's Bridge Junction. 'Hall' 4-6-0 No. 4913 'Baglan Hall' (built 2/29, withdrawn a month after this photograph) has probably taken over this train at Temple Mead. The train left Newquay at 08.00 and did not reach Manchester (Piccadilly) until about 19.30, via the Severn Tunnel, Hereford, Shrewsbury and Crewe - a pretty awful journey especially for those with children, but quicker than by road. |
