Lawrence County Grazing and Rangeland Field Day July 18– Begins 2:00pm Ellen Reddick Ranch – 1.5 miles south of Saint Onge 2:00-2:30 Resources for drought management, recognition, and planning 2:30-2:50 Evaluating pasture production and understanding the South Dakota Grazing Stick 2:50-3:20 Improving grazingland plant diversity and managing invasive cool-season grasses 3:20-3:40 Stream management with grazing animals and emerging conservation issues 3:40-4:40 Common rangeland plant identification Start Meal presentations at 5:00 at the community hall in St. Onge •Understanding seasonal forage quality changes and field indicators such as manure consistency and animal condition •Resources to determine grazing lease values and considerations for strengthening grazing leases Presentations by Adele Harty, Dave Ollila, Roger Gates, and NRCS staff.
