Description
Nederlands: [Allegorie op de uitvinding van de boekdrukkunst door Laurens Janszoon Coster] [afbeelding]. - [ca.1750]. - 1 tekening op papier : pen in zwart en penseel in grijs ; 21 x 32 cm. Niet gesigneerd. - Met watermerk: Lelie. Op grond van watermerk en stijl midden 18de eeuw gedateerd, ook al staat het jaartal 1648 in Romeinse cijfers op de versozijde geschreven. De pendant van deze tekening 53-000024 K heeft het watermarkt: IV. Afgebeeld is Laurens Janszoon Coster, gezeten temidden van een aantal naakte figuren, die vellen met gedrukte letters vasthouden. Rechtsboven het wapenschild van Haarlem. Aan zijn voeten de slang als symbool van overpeinzing. Het uit een pot stromende water zal het Spaarne symboliseren. Het gebladerte de Haarlemmerhout. Herkomst: geschonken in 1921 door Dr.J.F.M.Sterck te Heemstede. - Midden links beschadigd KNA006001425
