English: Non standard IPA symbol for "a rounded vowel between ʮ and ʯ with the lips pursed outward, just like tʃ, tʃʼ, ʃ in English, German and French with the lips pursed outwards [...] found in Suzhou and Xianyang Huijing, known as "Suzhou tsu" in 高本汉 [Bernhard Karlgren], 赵元任 [Chao Yuen Ren], 羅常培 [Luo Changpei], 李方桂 [Li Fang-Kuei], 中国音韵学研究 [=Études sur la phonologie chinoise],‎ 1940, page 199.
