Description
English: The "tilde letter" (a lowercase letter, having the same size and position as similar letters like "n") to mark a preceding vowel as nasalized, devised for the African Reference Alphabet, according to: Mann, Michael, and Dalby, David: A Thesaurus of African Languages, London 1987, ISBN 0-90-5450-24-8, p.207 (alphabet table), p.210 (explanation, introduced as "linearised tilde" there)
