Title
late medieval iron Woodman's axehead
Description
English: Slim late medieval iron woodmen's axe.
The axe weighs more than 300gr and it is 170mm long and has a relatively short blade of 62mm length. At its thickest point near the shaft hole is it 200mm thick, but it narrows down to the cutting edge which is in its corroded state ca. 2mm thick. The straight wooden shaft would have been inserted and fitten through an almost triangular hole of 28 by 20mm at the rear end of the axe, at a right angle to the axehead itself.
