Late Saxon buckle
Description
English: D-shaped buckle frame with zoomorphic decoration (possibly dolphins' heads) at each end of the buckle loop, 'biting' the bar. The zoomorphic heads each have a piercing which represents an eye. These appear to be filled with a white paste. 9th to 11th century.
