Late Medieval to Post Medieval Williams Class J purse bar
Description
English: An incomplete cast copper-alloy purse bar, Williams Class J, of late Medieval to Post Medieval date (AD 1450-1550). Only the arm and terminal survives. The arm is circular in cross-section and narrows towards the terminal. The terminal is spherical with two raised circumferential ribs on its side and a deep linear groove dividing the face into two equally sized hemispheres. It is otherwise undecorated. The entire object has a mid-green patina.

The purse bar is 33.72mm in length. The head is 11.43mm in diameter and the arm a maximum of 4.8mm diameter. It weighs 7.38 grams.
