Мемориальный знак устанавливается на фасаде дома, адрес которого стал для этого человека последним. English: The Last Address Sign is a commemorative plaque that is installed on the last known residential address of victims of the Soviet Union's Communist regime. The memorial sign is a small, 11x19 cm stainless steel plaque that contains information about the repressed person. This information usually contains his or her name, profession, date of birth, date of arrest, date and reason of death (was shot or died in a Soviet concentration camp), and date of rehabilitation ('for lack of corpus delicti' ).

Москва, Мясницкая ул. 21, строение 8, (в 1935—1990 годах — улица Кирова).

Здесь 1920-х годах располагались учебные корпуса Высших художественно-технических мастерских (ВХУТЕМАСа). В строении № 8 находилось общежитие ВХУТЕМАСа. Здесь жила семья латышского художника Александра Древина. 

Александр Давидович был арестован 17 января 1938 года. В тот же день арестовали и других его коллег по цеху: скульптора, бывшего командира латышских стрелков Яна Калныня (расстрелян 14 марта 1938); живописца, главного художника латышского театра «Скатувэ» Карла Вейдемана (расстрелян 26 февраля 1938 года); художника Вильгельма Якуба (расстрелян 28 февраля 1938 года).
11 февраля 1938 года Александра Древина приговорили к высшей мере наказания и расстреляли 26 февраля 1938 года. Ему было 49 лет. Сейчас работы Александра Древина есть в коллекциях Третьяковской галереи, Государственного художественного музея Латвии, Русского музея. Сегодня картины Древина выставлены в экспозиции нового здания Третьяковской галереи на Крымском валу как пример неформального искусства, существовавшего в советские времена.

В воскресенье, 21 апреля 2019 года, здесь была установлена табличка "Последний адрес" Александра Давидовича Древина.
