Using the Laser Cutter/Etcher at <a href="http://www.maklab.co.uk/" rel="nofollow">Glasgow Maklab</a> to etch an OpenStreetMap map of Edinburgh, at a recent OSM hack day. Printing done using vector image using multiple colours, each of which sets a different speed/intensity of cutting. Here, the laser is cutting the outline, burning all the way through the wood. The smell of burnt wood is delicious ;-) Output direct from ArcGIS to EPS format, then modified in Corel Draw. Thanks to Stuart at Maklab for showing us the ropes!
