Description

Le grand escalier du bâtiment art nouveau du centre commercial Galerija Emporium

Ce bâtiment, de style Secession (art nouveau), est parmi les plus beaux de Ljubljana. Il a été construit en 1903 sur commande de Felix Urbanc pour en faire un grand magasin semblable à ceux de Paris, Vienne ou Budapest.

La conception de l'immeuble est de l'architecte autrichien Friedrich Sigmund. L'entrée est dotée d'une remarquable marquise en verre et en fer forgé. Un escalier monumental permet d'accéder aux étages.

Le magasin actuel a été restauré en 2010, seuls les décors et structures architecturales du hall d'entrée ont été conservées, les autres pièces ont été réaménagées dans un style de design contemporain.

Le magasin comprend aujourd'hui des stands de toutes les grandes marques de luxe pour les vêtements et les chaussures.
