Description
English: Large white oak (Quercus alba) at abandoned house site, with open eastern exposure showing branch and crown structure. 16.4 ft (5.0 m) in trunk circumference at chest height; "knees" 1-2ft high covered by the wisteria vine growing up the lower trunk; remnants of 3 generations of swings from the lowest horizontal branch. At 152 m (499 ft) altitude along a minor entrance into Duke Forest, Durham North Carolina.
