Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Lard Packing House: No 61 Barrels/Casks/Flagons: Whiskey?

Whoever wrote the previous line got it wrong, not Whiskey but barrels filled with lard bladders, which of course we now know courtesy of [/photos/129555378@N07/ sharon.corbet] to pigs bladders which have been dried, inflated, and then filled with lard.

[/photos/91549360@N03/ OwenMacC] identifies the location as J Mattersons, Bacon Factory, Roches Street, Limerick.

[/photos/swordscookie/ swordscookie] aka Sean, tells a nice story of his Family and their involvement with Matterson Company, "Mattersons moved to new premises out in Kileely in the '70's and they commissioned the creation of a plaque for the reception. My father-in-law who was an iron founder made a cast of his own hands which was then placed on the wall. When Mattersons eventually closed my brother in law managed to buy the plaque and now has it in his home! You can see a photo of the cast in the comments below.
