Italiano: Aveva qui sede nel maestoso palazzo disegnato da Amedeo di Castellamonte la reale accademia di Savoia voluta nel 1669 da Carlo Emanuele II, realizzata dalla reggente duchessa Maria Giovanna Battista nel 1678.
L'istituto, destinata alla formazione dei futuri comandanti fu presto famoso in tutta Europa. Dopo la parentesi napoleonica fu riaperto nel 1815 da Vittorio Emanuele I come regia militare accademia. Educatrice degli ufficiali di tutte le armi dell'esercito sardo, futuro strumento dell'unità d'Italia. Dopo aver dato vita tra il 1859 e il 1862 ai corsi suppletivi per le armi di linea presso le scuole militari a Ivrea, Pinerolo e Modena, riserbò il suo compito formativo alle armi di artiglieria e genio mantenendo integre le antiche caratteristiche di onor militare, serietà, sapere scientifico e professionale. I rintocchi della campana donatale da Madama reale furono la sua voce, la voce del dovere. Vittorio Amedeo II, Alfieri, Cavour, Cavallo, Lamarmora, Giovani Cairoli, i grandi comandanti del 1° conflitto – il duca d'Aosta, Cadorna, Caviglia, Diaz – innumerevoli eroici ufficiali vi furono plasmati. Ebbe direttore spirituale ammirevole per carità e amor di patria il beato Sebastiano Valfrè. Maestri insuperabili di carattere e di scienza vi tennero cattedra: Cesare Saluzzo, Plana, Menabrea, Peano, Burali Forti, Boggio, Giua, Burzio, Perucca. Gli eventi della 2° guerra infersero gravi ferite all'edificio onde del mirabile colonnato si salvarono pochi elementi qui rialzati a ricordo d'un nobile passato nazionale vivificato dalla fede e dal sacrificio di tante generazioni.
