A Lapa do Santo é um sítio arqueológico localizado na região de Lagoa Santa em Minas Gerais. Apresenta um rico registro da cultura material dos grupos que habitaram o Brasil central durante Holoceno Inicial, Médio e Final. Dezenas de sepultamentos humanos foram encontrados na Lapa do Santo. O Sepultamento 4 estava recoberto pela estrutura de blocos EB-9, que pode ser visualizada nesta imagem. Abaixo da camada de blocos havia um esqueleto praticamente completo de um único indivíduo subadulto com idade estimada de cerca de 5 anos. Os ossos encontravam-se bastante fragmentados e quase nenhuma lógica anatômica pôde ser observada. No fundo da cova foram encontrados as duas escápulas, fragmentos de vértebras (possivelmente cervical) e algumas costelas (curtas, possivelmente da primeira a quinta costela). Diretamente acima desses ossos encontravam-se o occipital e, logo ao lado, o parietal. A presença das duas escápulas, das vértebras, das costelas e do occipital é o único exemplo de lógica anatômica no enterramento. |
