Summary
[edit]DescriptionLangsam Library and Crosley Tower, University of Cincinnati, CUF, Cincinnati, OH (28224418548).jpg | My daily commute to class takes me by this interesting angle of the university campus. The Walter C. Langsam Library, on the left, is the campus's main Library and was constructed in the 1970s to replace the old Art Deco style Library on the other side of campus, which was built in the 1930s. The library is such a massive structure in part due to the parking deck contained within part of the lower floors that is expressed externally on the structure's Northern and Western facades, and underwent a massive interior renovation that finished up last year. The tall concrete building behind and to the right of the library is the Crosley Tower, which was built in the 1960s out of a continuous concrete pour (second largest in the world at the time) and originally housed physics laboratories and offices, though today it is used primarily for offices. Though these may not be the most charming, cool, or beautiful structures on campus or in the city, they still are interesting in their own right. | |||
