English: Langport: Great Bow Wharf The wharf was once owned by Stuckey and Bagehot, whose firm grew into The Somerset Trading Co and expanded into banking, later becoming part of NatWest, now part of the Royal Bank of Scotland. Barges traded here from Bridgwater and Taunton. Compare this view with Liz Martin's shot taken in May 2005 - see 11907- when the housing by the wharf was under construction |
