DescriptionLangho railway station in 2007.jpg |
Original description: Langho Railway Station The original railway station at Langho was closed by British Railways on 5 May 1956. The station was re-built in a more modest form and re-opened on 29 May 1994, when regular passenger trains were re-introduced between Clitheroe, Blackburn and Manchester. The railway track here is on a significant downhill gradient of 1-in-82, heading for the long viaduct over the River Calder at Whalley. The distinctive outline of Pendle Hill is visible on the skyline. |
