Toelichting
Behorend tot een serie van 72 'Mahlerisch-radirte Prospecte von Italien', waarvoor de kunstenaar 24 prenten maakte. Albert Christoph Dies (1755-1822) en Jacob Wilhelm Mechau (1745-1808) maakten eveneens 24 platen, in opdracht van Jean Fréderic Frauenholz. Vanaf 1792 verschenen telkens drie sets van twee prenten per kunstenaar. In 1798 werd de laatste set uitgegeven, waarna complete sets gebonden werden uitgegeven tot in 1875 (Nuerenberg: J.L.
