Description
Nederlands: Zegenwerp en Venrode liggen op dezelfde dekzandrug, die oorspronkelijk bezet was met heide en zelfs stuifzand, met in uitgestoven laagtes vennen. Bij de aanleg van Zegenwerp in Engelse Landschapsstijl (1850) zijn de natuurlijke hoogteverschillen nog geaccentueerd. Venrode kwam tot stand rond 1900, door het stuifzand te bebossen met grove dennen. Eikenhorst is vanaf 1806 aangelegd op bouwland. De slangvormige vijverpartijen slingeren langs graslanden en door het parkbos. De boomopstanden zijn tussen de 100 en 130 jaar oud en (gelukkig) in een goede conditie. Info van IVN
