Deutsch: Der ursprünglich zur Unteren Burg gehörige Turm wurde im
Zuge der Errichtung der ersten Stadtmauer um 1220/30 in das Stadtbefestigungssystem entweder integriert oder auch erst neu erbaut. Er blieb als einziger Rest der 1751 endgültig abge- brochenen unteren Burg erhalten und wurde seit 1839 vom be- nachbarten Waldhornwirt genutzt. Zusammen mit dem fast baugleichen und etwa gleich alten Turm der Oberen Burg am südlichen Ende der Altstadt gilt der hochmittelalterliche „Waldhornturm“ als Wahrzeichen Besigheims und bezeugt die Herrschaftsgeschichte der Stadt. |
