The redesign of Lancaster Boulevard in Lancaster, California, won EPA’s 2012 Overall Excellence in Smart Growth Achievement Award. Dubbed “The BLVD Transformation,” the project has had a positive impact on the economy of the Lancaster region, generating more than 1,900 full-time jobs and nearly $300 million in economic activity.
