English: Lamesley railway station (site), Tyne & Wear Opened in 1868 by the North Eastern Railway on the line from Newcastle to Durham, this station closed to passengers in 1945 and completely in 1959. View south east towards Birtley and Durham. At its largest, the station had four platforms, centre-right of the image. The former station site was altered by the creation of Tyne Yard to the far right, and the main lines being moved further to the left. |
