Summary
[edit]DescriptionLambley Almshouses - geograph.org.uk - 1732500.jpg |
English: Lambley Almshouses. Built in 1897, Woodborough Road.
The listing currently on the wikipedia page for the Nottingham architect Watson Fothergill Watson_Fothergill , who was very active at that time, claims that this building is one of his. It is not at all in his usual style and I had grave doubts about that the accuracy of the listing. However Ken Brand's excellent little book - Watson Fothergill, Architect (Nottingham Civil Society) confirms that the building is his design. Far more recognisable is his other almshouse commission: 1371817. |
