24 LAMBERTS SUBURBAN ARCHITECTURE. The front door is glazed with a large pane of beveledplate glass, and has side lights of glassbulls eyes. Theparlor has a large bay the whole width of room, and slidingdoors connecting with dining-room ; is furnished with openfireplace and Colonial mantel. The library also has anopen fireplace and artistic mantel, and large windows withan art stained glass transom. Dining-room has large bayand door connecting with hall and butlers pantry, which islocated in rear of hall, between the dining-room and kit-chen, and has self-closing doors ; it is fitted up with a sink,dresser, drawers and two closets. The kitchen is providedwith a portable range, with canopy and ventilation so ar-ranged that all smoke and smells from the kitchen will becarried up the chimney. There are also a sink and all theusual fixtures and large lighted store closet in the kitchen. It has convenient back stairs to second floor, with potcloset under, and easy platform stairs to cellar
