Design No. 1 18. Residence of J. H. Davis, Esq.. Nutley, N. J. ^copyrighted.) Plan, arrangement, general finish, etc., are similar to No. 103, on opposite page. Design No. 103 is a cottage that is quite popular, severaladaptments of which have been erected at Passaic, Nutley,Hackensack and Delawanna, N. J. The elevations aretreated in the Colonial style, and they are well ornamentedwith octagonal projections, tower, porch, balconies andwindows, the handsome round towers and balconies beingattractive features of the building. The first story is clap-boarded and painted gray, with ivory white trimmings. Sec-ond and third stories are shingled, and are stained silver gray,with similar trimmings. Roof is covered with shingles andstained moss green. Dimensions : front, 26 ft.; side, 42 ft.,exclusive of rear piazza and bays. The interior arrangement is a most excellent model.
