[edit]DescriptionLalla Zoubida Raissouni in traditional costume (Caftan).png |
English: Lalla Zoubida Raissouni, wife of Ahmed Belbachir Haskouri (1908-1962), trusted man of the last Caliph of the Sultan in Tetouan, Northern of Morocco, on her wedding day, dressed in traditional costume which is nothing other than a richly embroidered Moroccan Caftan, a long izar, of Amazigh (Berber) tradition, jewelry and a crown. The Caftan she wears is a yellow Caftan from Fez (Morocco), called "Khrib" because it is so expensive that it ruins the family that owns one ("Khrib" means "to ruin" in Moroccan Darija); The Khrib Caftan is made with luxurious Fez brocade whose technique and reputation dates back to the Middle Ages. At the back, we can see the El Bahja fabric that is generally offered in the bride's trousseau. |
