Description
English: The Lakes Creek War Memorial situated in Stenhouse Park located on Lakes Creek Road in the suburb of Koongal in the regional Australian city of Rockhampton, Queensland. The monument was dedicated on 28 November 1947 and was erected by the Australian Manufacturing Industries Employees Union members of the slaughtering and casing departments of the Lakes Creek Meatworks to commemorate servicemen from those departments who served in World War II. Tributes to Prime Minister John Curtin and General Douglas Macarthur are also inscribed on the monument.
