Description
English: Lake Sampaloc[1] is an inactive volcanic maar[2] [3] in --- San Pablo, Laguna [4] on the island of Luzon, the Philippines. [5]; Dagatan Boulevard is a place located at latitude (14.080800) and longtitude (121.323891) on the map of Philippines; [6] Coordinates: 14°4'42"N 121°19'49"E; It is the largest of the Seven Lakes of San Pablo, Laguna[7]. Nearly half of the lake's depth has a shallow depression at the lake's bottom, indicating its volcanic origin. The lake is located behind San Pablo city hall and is dotted with fishpens and small cottages built on stilts. [8] It is inactive volcanic maar οn thе island dotted wіth fishpens аnԁ small cottages built οn stilts with Boardwalk;[9] [10] The biggest amongst the seven lakes, it is 1.2 kilometers wide and 27 meters deep, and 3.7 km. circumference, a shallow volcanic crater, that got filled with water overtime;[11] [12]; it has lotus flowers and in the foreground is the mysterious Mount Banahaw[13] with bamboo rafts and fish pens contain ing tilapia, carp and bangus, several species of shrimps, just 20 meters deep;[14] [15] It has been more than 700 years since the last eruption of the San Pablo Volcanic Field. Its craters, also known as maars, have since filled with water and are now disguised as placid lakes.[16]
