Notes | The four-masted iron ship County of Linlithgow was built on the Clyde by Barclay, Curle & Co. for R. & J. Graig of Glasgow and launched in 1887. Ordered for the Indian jute trade, she was registered at 2,207 tons gross and measured 286¾ feet in length with a 43 foot beam. After numerous changes of ownership, she was bombed and sunk in Piraeus harbour during the Second World War (1941), whilst under the ownership of S/A Hellenique Maritime 'Transpetrol', Piraeus.[1] | |||||||||||||||||||
