Description
Español: Las lagunas de Mojanda (3,700 m.s.n.m.) están situadas a 17 Km al occidente de la población de Tabacundo, están asentadas en la caldera del estratovolcán inactivo del mismo nombre de la Cordillera Oriental de los Andes en el norte de Ecuador. Son tres: Karikucha (laguna Macho), Yanakucha (laguna negra) y Warmikucha (laguna Hembra). En 2002 recibió el estado de parque protegido. Con una temperatura promedio de entre 7-90 C, hay espacios para acampar y practicar treking. El otro volcán, que produjo al menos dos erupciones propias, es conocido como Fuya Fuya (4,263 m.s.n.m.), este colapsó parcialmente hace unos 165.000 años, creando una gran caldera al oeste. Este volcán es preferido por los turistas que gustan del andinismo en sus diferentes especialidades.
