Notes La Pradera de San Isidro (1788) is one of the most talked about works of Francisco de Goya. This is a painted sketch for a series of cartoons for tapestries for decorating the bedroom of the princesses of the Palace of El Pardo. With the death of Charles III the project was unfinished, and the picture that was to measure seven feet in length, was in this delightful point. The box became the property of the Dukes of Osuna until 1896. It shows a view of Madrid from the hermitage of San Isidro the city's patron, the day of the pilgrimage.
